THANK YOU FOR READING ALL OF MY TL;DR AND MAKING IT TO THE APP PAGE. If you're interested in the game, then I am super excited to have you!! Let's talk appable characters.
APPS ARE PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Thanks for playing everyone!
Players may app any character from a fictional medium. Live action, anime, Western cartoons, musicals, stage shows– you name it, you can app from it. Historical figures cannot be apped if their canon is too close to real life– Hamilton is not okay, but Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is. Characters based upon real people who are just goofing around and roleplaying are also not allowed. They need to be solidly fictional, not in a weird in-between space. I reserve the right to reject characters based on this criteria, and my decision is final.
Characters must have a solid amount of canon to be appable. Fandom OCs are not allowed, with the exception of OCs of D&D campaigns because. . . all D&D characters are OCs rofl. Malleable protagonists that are completely built by players, from personality to appearance (such as Warriors of Light from FFXIV) are not allowed. Malleable protagonists with their own personality and/or appearances (such as silent protagonists from the SMT series or Ludger from Tales of Xillia) are perfectly okay, though.
Normal OCs where the canon/setting are created by the player are, of course, happily welcomed! OCs are only subject to the cast/franchise cap if they come from the same universe; OCs from different universes are not subject to these caps.
AUs are allowed, but only if they are canon AUs. Player made AUs are not allowed at this time.
Doubles are allowed, but only if the two versions are completely different. Furthermore, the person apping a double must ask the current player in the game beforehand. I'll be checking in on this, too!
Currently, PG/CRAU characters are not allowed.
New canons are appable so long as the canon has been released in English for at least 30 days. And even then, I'd ask that you be kind to your fellow players and mark your spoilers.
Each player may only app one character.
The current CAST cap is 35. The current CANON cap is 3. The current FRANCHISE cap is 5. I hate canon and franchise caps as much as the next person but this game is small, so I do want to prevent any one canon/franchise from being the majority of the game! Depending on how things go, I may lift the canon/franchise cap, but we'll see!
